ARCHITECT: HERZOG & DeMEURON, FONG & CHAN (2005)

The De Young Museum in Golden Gate Park has a unique contemporary design using perforated metal siding in a dark color.
The exterior architecture of this building grows on you.
There is a great viewing level in the adjacent tower where you can good sightlines on the California Academy of Sciences and surrounding San Francisco.
Photographs are not allowed in the galleries, so my photos do not capture this element.
